Mysticism and the Unseen World
Mohsen Heidari is an artist deeply intrigued by mysticism and spirituality. While his works may not directly depict everyday life, they capture deeper emotions, trends, and occurrences we experience in the world.
Inner Architecture and Spontaneous Creation
Heidari believes spirituality shapes our perception of the self and the world around us. This philosophy guides his spontaneous approach to painting. His canvases are raw and unpolished, inviting viewers to discover moments of self-revelation within the strokes and colors. He views painting as a form of personal expression rather than a mere depiction of reality.
Two-Dimensional Exploration
Heidari is firmly rooted in the two-dimensional world. He avoids attempts to translate three-dimensional life onto a flat canvas.
Rediscovering Form and Color
Through his work, Heidari seeks to rediscover the relationship between form and color within the confines of a two-dimensional space. He believes form emerges organically within the creative process, waiting to be discovered rather than depicted. Ultimately, he sees each painting as a story waiting to be retold by the observer, transcending the time and space of its creation.
Artistic Journey
Born in Tehran in 1981, Heidari's passion for painting led him to self-teach before pursuing graphic design at university. A pivotal encounter with Fereydoun Mambeigi, a renowned Iranian artist, profoundly influenced his artistic trajectory. Mambeigi, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome and a professor at Tehran University, was a pioneer of Iranian Tachisme, a movement emphasizing spontaneous gesture and improvisation. Heidari also published a collection of his poems, showcasing his multifaceted artistic talents.
