Description:
Guardians of the Cypress is a richly layered composition where mythology, calligraphy, and sacred geometry converge. Two lion-like figures, armoured with golden wings and patterned in stylized script, flank a central cypress tree, symbol of endurance and eternal life. Their mirrored stance and watchful faces lend the piece a ceremonial stillness, as though caught in an eternal vigil. Rouhani transforms the surface into a tapestry of meaning, balancing power and harmony within a glowing, earthy palette.

About the artist:
Roxaneh Rouhani (b. 1987) is a visual artist with an academic background in Food Industry Engineering. She has been painting since 2007 and has held three solo exhibitions, along with participating in numerous group shows in France, Turkey, and the United States. Her work, Dream Garden, was featured in the book One Hundred Works, One Hundred Artists. Rouhani’s signature style blends textures inspired by nomadic carpets with mythical and real creatures drawn from ancient visual traditions and Saqqakhaneh aesthetics.
