Description: From her collection Silent Movers, this piece captures the stillness hidden beneath the appearance of motion. A young woman drinks through a glass straw, her gaze introspective, while a tiny goldfish floats inside the cup. Behind her, a richly patterned carpet, a looming storm cloud, and a suspended antique pocket watch converge to evoke the weight of memory, time, and unspoken burdens. The painting invites the viewer to reflect on the tension between vitality and silence, presence and absence.
About the artist: Soroor Kheirolahi (b. September 8, 1992) is a visual artist with a Bachelor’s degree in General Painting. Her works reflect a dreamlike inner world where reality and imagination overlap. In her recent series Silent Movers, she explores figures caught in stillness despite seeming to be in motion, symbolizing the weight of routine and hidden pressures. Using surrealism as her language, she brings objects to life and transforms humans into shadows, creating narratives that question existence and invite viewers to look beneath the surface of everyday life.
