Description: Toranj 1 reimagines the sacred geometry of Islamic ornamentation through bold material experimentation. Here, Ghaseminejad assembles fragments of fabric and mirror-finished stainless steel into a radiant mandala that shimmers with both pattern and contradiction. The Toranj traditional Persian motif becomes a site of visual rebellion, stitched with hints of abstraction and contemporary color. About the Artist: Bijan Ghaseminejad is a multidisciplinary artist with over twenty years of experience in carpet design and visual arts. Known for transforming damaged or discarded carpets into new visual languages, his practice spans sculpture, wall installations, and textile collage. Blending traditional Middle Eastern aesthetics with conceptual provocation, Ghaseminejad’s work reflects a commitment to reviving cultural memory through fragmentation, reassembly, and play. His sculptural and wall-mounted pieces push the boundaries of material and meaning, offering poetic reflections on identity, ritual, and transformation.
